Western Red Cedar is a perfect timber for exterior wall cladding, outdoor rooms and other outdoor uses. Cedar is a tough, durable timber that doesn’t need treating unless you wish to preserve its 'new' red look. It has an extremely long lifespan and will colour weather grey over time if not treated.
What is the difference between Canadian Western Red Cedar and British Western Red Cedar?
Canadian Western Red Cedar has a straighter grain than standard British Western Red Cedar, will contain fewer knots, is freshly cut and is slightly darker in colour. Because of these reasons, and the cost of importing it, it is a more expensive timber.
What grade is our larch/cedar? We do not grade our softwoods. As a company, we produce 0% wood waste so use the whole of the log from the whole of the tree to produce our boards.
